Our goal in writing this article is to give the simplest expression of the criteria for selecting a suitable facade stone.

In Iran, facade stones are frequently supplied as tiles. In the sequence of use, the width of these tiles is 40, 30, and 60 cm. These stones will be great because of their high length. High stones cost more money (between 20 to 30 percent more).
It’s
important to take care to make sure that the thickness of the cut is precisely the same when compared to the stones thickness. To verify this, you should observe and examine a bunch of stones from the side. Natural stone facades typically have a thickness of 17 mm.
The more uniform the stone’s pattern, free of lumps and contrasting diverse colors, the more attractive and superior it will seem, and as a result, the more costly it will be. When it comes to travertine stones, lighter and less contrasting colors are preferable.
Examples of light-to-dark travertine can be found in the gallery below (right to left).
Building stone is not precisely priced because of its inherent features and several quality considerations. However, pricing unknown stones in the market gets more challenging. Because of this, it’s suggested to use common stones and to compare the cost and quality by asking questions and looking at the offerings of different sellers (at least 3 items).
Ira has a wide variety of travertine stones (quarry). These stones have varying resistances based on the quality of the travertines
components. One of the most crucial classification features for travertine is its resistance, as its a fragile stone. As you can see from the list below, we have generally divided the stones into three categories.
Among the various forms of polished processing, having a polished finish is one of the most crucial requirements for a good building stone. This has a relatively negative impact on the final product’s quality; even the best stone will not turn out well if it has an ordinary or weak polished finish and even the worst stones will still be gorgeous, and valued with a well-polished surface.
Because of their porosity, travertine stones which are utilized as facade stones, need to have their surfaces processed with resin. As a result, the surface`s holes are filled with resin that fits in color. The materials utilized in this process and the quality of the resin or epoxy are especially crucial. Because using inferior materials may cause the resin to eventually separate from the holes and get above the surface, as well as from the stone.
The surface of travertine stones is covered with an epoxy process. Epoxy can now be dried on a surface using one of two methods: 1. a furnace, 2. Light or natural heat (primarily from the sun or thermal panels).
Production of travertine facade stones increases due to the rapid drying process of the furnace drying method. However, when it ages and is exposed to sunlight, this stone gets darker. This is the opposite in the case of drying with natural light. As a result, the travertine stone produces more light when exposed to sunlight, getting longer its producing time.
Therefore, its crucial to pay attention to the stone surfaces epoxy process (furnace or natural light), and purchasing furnace stones is not suggested.
