Book-matched and four-matched slabs are among the most beautiful and distinctive ways of arranging natural stone slabs. By creating natural symmetry in the stone’s patterns and veining, they add an artistic and visually captivating appeal to any space.

In the production process of slab stones (large, single-piece stone panels), the arrangement of two slabs in which the stone’s waves and veins align with each other is known as book-matched, ultimately creating the appearance of an open book. To achieve this effect, the cut pieces are simply processed in opposite directions.

Four-matched refers to the arrangement of four stone slabs, with two positioned above and two below, so that their veins and overall patterns create a beautiful, symmetrical design centered around a central axis.

Not all extracted stones can be arranged in the form of book-matched and four-matched slabs. Stones with wavy patterns and lines are utilized for this purpose. Among the stones that are appropriate for this kind of processing are all sorts of onyx, travertine, crystal marble stone, and some types of marble. It should be noted that book-matched and four-matched stone textures and patterns are widely different based on stone types.
